Two Liberal MPs, Madwa-Nika Cadet and Frédéric Beauchemin, appealed to students to denounce their shouting and vulgar teachers.
This followed the broadcast of comments by elementary and secondary school teachers that all of Quebec became aware of.
However, this call for denunciation aimed at students is all the more unacceptable since it comes from adults who are deputies of the National Assembly.
Informing is branded in our democratic system. In my column yesterday, I myself denounced the teachers’ union, which is only interested in questions of collective agreements and not in pedagogy.
No one will make me say that denunciation is the solution to these verbal delusions of teachers, of which I also believe that there are more of them than we would like.

By speaking thus, the two Liberal MPs are proving that they do not have the political and intellectual qualities to represent their constituents.
Let us also remember that other Liberal MP, André A. Morin, who in commenting on behalf of the PLQ on the bill on surrogate mothers wanted to erase the word “woman” with the word “person” to be more inclusive.
However, 24 hours later, the interim Liberal leader Marc Tanguay made his mea culpa by voting for the motion tabled by the Minister of Justice, Simon Jolin-Barrette. “We won’t start telling women that they don’t exist in our laws,” said the minister. The National Assembly therefore voted unanimously for the government’s motion.
Politically, confusion reigns within the PLQ. Yesterday, Marwah Rizqy, the MP for Saint-Laurent, who does not endorse the recordings of enraged teachers, declared that “99.9% of teachers are extraordinary and as in all professions a tiny percentage tarnishes the image”.
This position contradicts the words of his two liberal colleagues who encouraged denunciation. It must therefore be concluded that the Liberal Party of Quebec led by its interim leader no longer knows where to turn.
Contradictions
It has been less than seven months since the provincial elections took place. Dominique Anglade has since disappeared from the political scene and the Liberal deputies contradict each other from one week to the next. The next elections will not take place for four years. The PLQ risks evaporating as political crises unfold.
Today, who are the Quebeckers of liberal allegiance who would like to make the leap into politics knowing that their party has been stripped of its French-speaking majority?
It is precisely because of this mess that Liberal members no longer know where to turn. Sometimes we adopt a woke position. Afterwards, it is a position that is similar to the extreme right.
In fact, English-speaking voters of the PLQ are unaware of the debates concerning French-language schools. The PLQ also doubles Quebec solidaire on its left with deputies who recover themes from the transgender debate. Like MP Morin when he wanted to prevent the term “female carrier” from being used.
Who would have believed in this descent into hell of the PLQ? The party has become intellectually destitute and politically amnesic.
How sad !
