An emblematic figure of the television universe, Laurent Baffie is one of the greatest comedians of his generation. Of Hello earthlings to Big heads, Thierry Ardisson’s sidekick made an impression with his scathing punchlines and nonchalant attitude. Guest of Guillaume Pley in the last issue of Legend, the 65-year-old host, author, director and writer has agreed to return to his entire career.
During his interview, he notably remembered the day when Geneviève de Fontenay cried because of him. “Once, someone cried! It was Geneviève de Fontenay”, he launched before continuing his anecdote. “I was doing a program called 17e sans elevator which was a bit like the resumption of Thierry’s dinner (Ardisson, editor’s note). And Jean-Marie Bigard, still him, gesticulating, he spilled a small glass of wine on the Geneviève’s white suit with her hat. And I don’t know, it must have been studied in the laboratory before… Because I’ve never seen so little wine stain a person to such an extent”.

Her fichu tailor, Geneviève de Fontenay was in all her states. “She said ‘My God, my God, what am I going to do?’ , editor’s note)’, and there, she started to cry“. After the flop of his joke, Laurent Baffie did everything to cheer up the ex-president of the Miss France Committee.
“I called her every 20 minutes and she told me […] ‘It is unrecoverable’. And there, really, I was torn between giggles and guilt… Then, I saw her who had tears welling up in her eyes, and when you have a giggle, it’s irrepressible… So, it was very complicated…” Quite an anecdote!
