These are the first images of a missing warship in 80 years. After 12 days of research, for this Australian team, it is the exaltation, off the Philippines, their small ultra sophisticated submarine has detected a wreck. It is a Japanese World War II ship sunk by the Americans in 1942. On board were nearly 1,000 Australian Allies prisoners.

“This tragedy resulted in the greatest loss at sea in our history”, explains Richard Marles, Deputy Prime Minister of Australia. The list of victims had already been established, the families contacted testify to their emotion on social networks. The wreck lies even deeper than the Titanic, but here, out of respect, no objects or human beings will be removed.
