The sixth edition of the festival Canneseries took place between April 14 and 19, 2023. Many personalities invaded the red carpet of the city of Cannes. Among them, Melha Bedia. The 32-year-old traveled to the south of France for the event. She gave a masterclass there dedicated to high school students. Our colleagues from Tele-Leisure met her and asked her about her mother’s role in the film’s casting Forte (in which she is an actress and screenwriter, editor’s note). “In Forte, we wanted Gérard Lanvin for the role of Ramzy. But my mother was in the production offices that day, as if by chance… She told me that it was shameful that I didn’t give anything to my brother. So yes, she forces us”she said.
This French comedy directed by Katia Lewkowicz was to be released in cinemas but because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was finally unveiled on the platform Amazon Prime Video. “But it’s true that we wanted to give him a role in my Miskina series, poor thing, but he wasn’t available, so I hope for season 2”, she added. A second season, in the process of being written.
From comedy to auteur film
Melha also confided in the Figaro. At the bend of this interview, she returned to her failure during season 2 of LOL, who laughs, leaves. “I’m frustrated, I did anything, I was eliminated in 2nd, Ramzy first, it was a shame for the Bedia … We had bet a lot on me, I have a real revenge to take !” She took the opportunity to talk about her future projects. “Comedy is my comfort zone. Even if it’s more difficult than making people cry. I dream first of doing my big comedy. Afterwards, maybe I’ll move on to an auteur film”. Without forgetting to mention this rule that she has set herself. “I’m waiting for my family to be decimated to play a naked scene!”
