With Lille’s qualification confirmed on Wednesday, December 8, the French championship saw its representatives pass the obstacle of the group stage of the Champions League. LOSC and Paris Saint-Germain will be playing in the round of 16 of the competition. If it will be necessary to wait until the end of February to see them throw themselves into the arena again, the excitement will rise a notch Monday, December 13, on the occasion of the draw in Switzerland.
When the identity of the opponents of the last two champions of France will be revealed, they can begin to consider their battle plan. One thing is certain, the rest of the adventure may be much more robust for PSG. The capital club will appear in the hat of the second in the group and will therefore only be able to face a first.
Six options will be presented to him insofar as he will not be able to find Lille – French representative – or Manchester City – already faced in the group stage. Paris will find either Liverpool, Ajax Amsterdam, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester United or Juventus Turin. The first three have achieved a faultless with six wins in six matches in the group stage and the other three are also part of the top of the European scene, even if Juve seem slightly more graspable on paper.
The situation is a little more favorable for Lille, which will benefit from its status as the first in the group. The northern club will no doubt wish to avoid two teams more than the others: defending champion Chelsea and Atlético de Madrid. Other potential opponents are Sporting Portugal, Inter, Benfica and the winner of the Villarreal-Atalanta duel (postponed until Thursday).

A lenient draw will be good to take for a team which has never been further than this stage of the eighth, reached for the last time in 2006-2007 against Manchester United.
