(Longueuil) An evacuation of residences was carried out by the police Friday morning, in Longueuil, after calls to the 911 emergency telephone center reported that shots had been heard shortly before 6 a.m.
According to the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL), the incident did not cause any apparent injuries.
Two elderly people in their thirties were arrested. The police investigation that has been initiated aims to determine their involvement in the events and to find any other person of interest.
Shortly after public complaints, a security perimeter was erected on rue Daniel, in a residential area near chemin de Chambly, in Vieux-Longueuil. Shortly after 10 a.m., the perimeter was still in place, as police checks had not been completed. The evacuees had not yet been able to return to their residence.
Firearm bullet casings were found by police.
