Supporters of Sporting de Charleroi threw dead rats towards the stands occupied by those of Standard de Liège on Friday during the Belgian championship match between the two clubs, we learned from the Liège club on Sunday.
A dozen rats painted red (the colors of the local club) were sent towards the “Rouches” supporters by those of the Zebras, a group of supporters first indicated on social networks, information confirmed by different sources. Contacted by AFP, the Liège club did not comment on these incidents and did not say whether it intended to bring the case before the authorities of the Pro League, as mentioned by Belgian media.
“We hope that the Pro League will act, that our club will file a complaint and that the animal associations will get involved”, indicated supporters on Facebook while the Charleroi supporters also held up a banner indicating “ratization” addressed to the local public.
“Spectators hooded and dressed in pest control outfits threw these rats in the direction of T2, a stand occupied by families and people with reduced mobility”, indicated “disgusted”, a Standard supporter on RTL-Tvi television .
