She proved it again this Thursday, April 13 when she received Frédéric Beigbeder to present her new trial called “Confessions of a Slightly Overwhelmed Heterosexual” released on April 5, 2023.
The host, after discussing her guest’s work, asked her: “How do you respond when you are accused of having frequented a large number of sexual predators? Of having awarded a Renaudot prize to Gabriel Matzneff? Or of having burst out laughing when a novelist of whom you were the editor confided to having been sexually assaulted by a presenter of JT?.

“I answer that… This last story dates from twenty years ago. twenty years ago […] or questionable literary choices of ten years ago”then retorted Frédéric Beigbeder before continuing, facing the camera: “The idea is that people have to be able to evolve. They have to be able to change. So don’t keep bringing them back to their past stupidities”.
At the end of the program, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine gave her point of view: “It’s literature, you can choose not to read it… I read it. You annoyed me. I wanted to pull your hair too”. But that doesn’t mean she didn’t enjoy the book: “I liked your book, many things convinced me”she launched to her guest before qualifying: “but I find that you do everything to be hated, everything to be inaudible and to annoy. You really are a brat”. “Now when I go on shows I get scolded like I’m 8”then had fun Frédéric Beigbeder, a bit annoyed.
The defense of Frédéric Beigbeder
Following his passage, the writer aroused many reactions on social networks, often very critical of him. Asked by Le Figaro At Nightin the process, he insisted on explaining himself after his stormy passage on “C to you”. “I think after this show, I’m going to be ‘cancelled’ by public service. Frédéric Beigbeder pursues and defends himself: “I use my anger as fuel for writing. Today he says he has “the habit of ‘shitstorms’, i.e. fans filled with poo”. Of the “angers” which surge “during one week” before “everyone calm down”.
