Israeli army strikes Syria after rocket fire

The Israeli army carried out strikes on Syrian soil on the night of Saturday April 8 to Sunday April 9. It justified its action in response to six rocket attacks from Syria against its territory. Prayers without major incident

In this month of Ramadan, the Muslim faithful prayed on the Esplanade of the Mosques, the third holiest site in Islam, on Sunday morning. Some Jewish worshipers also traveled to Jerusalem, under police escort. Nearly 1,500 people gathered outside the Western Wall for the traditional Jewish Easter prayer. Many Christians also came for the masses at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The prayers passed without major incident. After the attacks of the last few days, the Israeli police had deployed in force in the old city.
