US actor Michael Lerner, a veteran of decades in Hollywood, has died aged 81.
Although he passed away on Saturday, the news was announced on Sunday by his nephew Sam Lerner, who is also an actor.
“We lost a legend last night. It’s hard to describe how brilliant my uncle Michael’s career was and how influential he was to me,” he wrote on Instagram.
No details were provided as to Michael Lerner’s cause of death.
Born in Brooklyn in 1941, Michael Lerner has accumulated roles in theatre, television and cinema since the 1960s.
His role in the Cohen brothers’ film, Barton Finkearned him several accolades, including an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 1992.
We have also seen it in the movies The Candidate (1972), Godzilla (1998), elf (2003) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).
On television, Michael Lerner participated in several popular series such as The Brady Bunch, MASH, The A-Team, Clueless, Law & Order, Entourage And Glee.
