This attack comes in a climate of tension in the Middle East. Last night the Israeli army carried out a series of airstrikes in Gaza, leaving huge craters in the ground and extensive material damage. Before dawn, Israel strikes southern Lebanon in turn. Houses are bombed. The army claims to have targeted the infrastructure of the Palestinian movement Hamas. The strikes were carried out in response to around 30 rockets fired from Lebanon into northern Israel on Thursday afternoon, Jewish Easter.

For its part, Lebanon says it condemns the firing of rockets from its territory and claims to want calm.
