The energy performance diagnosis is now a mandatory document for selling or renting your home. However, it is not easy to navigate, because the results are not always the same. How to choose the right energy balance? UFC Que-Choisir investigated.

The energy performance diagnosis (DPE) is mandatory for the sale or rental of a property. However, for the same dwelling, the energy labels are sometimes different. In 2014, Anne Darcel bought a farmhouse in Brittany with her husband. Only, very quickly, she became disillusioned. There is no insulation in the walls of the house. A lack of training

These botched diagnoses can have serious consequences. UFC Que-Choisir investigated and carried out several diagnoses in seven different houses. Ratings vary wildly. The association denounces a lack of training for diagnosticians. “Anyone can become a property inspector“, assures Élisabeth Chesnais, journalist at UFC Que-Choisir. The government has just announced the strengthening of professional training by this summer to limit excesses.
