As of April 3, the law prohibits paying temporary doctors more than 1,390 euros for 24-hour duty. Some temporary doctors threaten to stop working, and therefore to block certain services. Some establishments will thus reduce their activity, such as the CHU of Saint-Etienne (Loire). Other hospitals ont made the choice to do without temporary workers.
An attractive salary policy
In the neonatology department of the largest hospital in Seine-Saint-Denis, Dr Naimia Mihoubi has been a pediatrician for two years. His remuneration is far from that of temporary workers. She receives 266 euros gross for a 14-hour guard. However, the head of department has no difficulty in completing the schedules. A workforce that the hospital has simply retained with a remuneration that seems satisfactory to them. However, this choice is not always possible for the smallest structures.
