Noovo will present the Quebec adaptation of Survivor.
The channel announced on Tuesday that it had acquired the popular reality TV format from global giant Banijay, which also owns the rights to programs like Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Fort Boyard.
It is not known who will host the Quebec version of Survivor. However, we know that Jean-Thomas Jobin has often shared his love for the show. Last winter, the comedian won Big Brother Celebrity on Noovo. Its links with Bell Media are therefore established.
The adaptation of Survivor will be produced by in collaboration with Productions ToRoS (Double occupation, The week of 4 Julie), Julie Snyder’s box. Noovo has not revealed where the first season will be filmed, or when it will air.
Produced in more than 40 countries, Survivor is one of the biggest television phenomena of the past 25 years. Although its heyday has passed, the competition still attracts eight million viewers each week in the United States. His 42e season will start in March.
Survivor features participants trying to survive in isolated natural territory. They have to fend for themselves to eat, warm themselves and take shelter. All while completing various endurance challenges, skill tests, mental capacity tests and puzzles. Each week, one of them is eliminated until the crowning of the winner, chosen by all those excluded.
