Students were reportedly targeted by a gun in Anjou

Students from Anjou high school would have had a gun pointed in their direction, Wednesday noon, creating panic, and the intervention of SPVM police officers.

Several students were waiting for the bus when one or two individuals in a vehicle stopped at a bus stop near the school.

A weapon was reportedly pointed at the students, who started running in all directions, near avenue Saint-Donat.

A major police deployment was put in place shortly after the events.

The vehicle in which the suspect or suspects was found was found later in the afternoon in the neighboring borough of Rivière-des-Prairies.

No weapon was found in the vehicle.

Car found

“A car with several people on board showed up. These people would have threateningly challenged students who were outside for lunch. The police quickly showed up on the spot to ensure everyone’s safety,” said the management of the Anjou secondary school.

A student met by TVA Nouvelles recounts the incident.

“We saw a car arrive, and then they took out weapons on our friends and then we were scared,” explains a young teenager.

Another boy points out that the threatening people were all masked.

“There were 4 people in a car with balaclavas, weapons and everything. They docked, I ran with my friend. They said to us: ”are you from block six?” It must be gangsters they were looking for, ”says another young person from this secondary school.

Again Thursday, the police presence was important near the school which welcomes 1400 students.

The investigation is ongoing.
