The continuation of the movement against the pension reform will depend on the outcome of a meeting which could take place next week in Matignon. Elisabeth Borne finally invited the unions, and indicated that all subjects could be discussed.

They have not come to Matignon since January. Next week, it is again there that the unions will be received by Elisabeth Borne. But which participants will be around the table? The CFDT immediately answered yes. But the CGT has not yet spoken, the union is in full congress. Friday, March 31, the successor to Philippe Martinez will decide on the position to take.

Activists Divided

The activists are divided. “The inter-union is solid and I intend that it will still be”explains one of them. “I do not accept that we participate in this masquerade convened by Elisabeth Borne”, says another trade unionist. What will be the agenda for this meeting? “We are going to discuss pensions”declared Laurent Berger, the secretary general of the CFDT on franceinfo, Wednesday March 29. Trade unions will be able to address all the subjects they wish”, said the Prime Minister. Everyone is keeping an eye on April 14, the date on which the Constitutional Council will deliver its opinion on the pension reform.
