Versatility doesn’t scare Jamel Debbouze… Quite the contrary. After conquering the crowds in the industry of the 7ᵉ art, the main interested party decided to embark on a completely different field: that of the culinary world. Recently, the famous producer opened a restaurant called Dar Mima located at the institute of Arab World in Paris. This new project that makes him proud also allows him to pay tribute to his mother Fatima Debbouze!
“Dar Mima seems far from my profession, but it is not from me and my story. Because this restaurant is in honor of my mother Fatima, who is called Mima in the family. It echoes the Moroccan cuisine from my childhood“, confessed Jamel Debbouze in the columns of the “World” March 26, 2023. For several years, the main interested party clung to this dream which ended up coming true! “I have been wearing this restaurant for so long… I was already a candidate in 2007 for the Arab World Institute, but my file had not been accepted”, clarified the star.
Inspired by the dishes of his mother, Jamel Debbouze wanted to put them in the spotlight through a bold menu: “She always cooked with love, but also with precision. I realize it now, but each of her gestures is not folklore, it gives flavor to the dishes. It is this food that is so personal that I wanted to share. It’s very simple: the best moments of my life, I lived them around a tajine”.

Gourmets should therefore be satisfied! The comedian also put the small dishes in the big ones concerning the wines offered in his restaurant: “I don’t drink wine. Our sommelier made some very good choices, from what I’ve heard from customers! There are wines from everywhere and also from Morocco, where they are also of high quality”. On a daily basis, the comedian likes to receive! And he loves to delight the taste buds of his guests. Just like his other half.
“At home, it’s my wife who buys wine if we have friends over. But between us, in the couple, wine is not a subject. Sorry, I can’t talk about it”, revealed Jamel Debbouze.
