Spectacular Montreal Canadiens prospect Lane Hutson etched his name into Boston University Terriers legend on Saturday by playing the heroes in overtime in the Hockey East conference final.

The second-round pick in the last draft allowed his team to be crowned by threading the needle with a veiled wrist shot in overtime.
The Terriers beat the Merrimack Warriors 3-2. And guess who scored the other goals for the Boston team? Devin Kaplan, and none other than Lane Hutson.
The small and skilful defender was thus named player par excellence of the tournament, yet another award since the start of the season. He also equaled Brian Leetch’s record for most points in a season by a fullback under 19, with 47.
The Terriers will thus participate in the Frozen Four, which brings together the best collegiate teams in the country.

Pitlick impresses
We rarely hear about Rhett Pitlick, Rem’s younger brother. The 2019 fifth-round pick hasn’t produced at an all-time high pace this season, but he did grab some attention with a stunning goal on Saturday.
The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers forward was one of three scorers in a 4-3 loss to the University of Michigan Wolverines in the Big Ten Conference Finals.
Pitlick knocked down defenseman Steven Holtz with a series of spectacular fakes. The latter found himself with all four irons in the air while the hope of the Habs found the back of the net thanks to a swift wrist shot.
Moreover, just like Pitlick, Sean Farrell and his team suffered defeat in the final. Colgate University became ECAC conference champions by beating Harvard University 3-2.
Joshua Roy again
Closer to home, Quebecer Joshua Roy showed no mercy for the Val-d’Or Foreurs in front of their fans.
The Canadiens gem had a natural hat trick in the first period and picked up two more assists in a 9-1 win over the Sherbrooke Phoenix.
His teammates Justin Gill (four assists) and Ethan Gauthier (two goals, one assist) also had fun at the expense of the Abitibi team.
This season Roy has 41 goals and 90 points in 52 games.
