The trial of the three men suspected of being involved in the death of Philippe Monguillot, a bus driver killed in Bayonne in 2020, will take place in September 2023, in Pau, before the Assize Court of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, reports Friday March 17 France Blue Basque Country.

Three years after the death of Philippe Monguillot, the investigation is now complete. The trial will therefore take place from September 15 to 21, 2023. Two men will be tried for criminal acts: “Voluntary violence resulting in death without the intention of giving it” in a state of recidivism. The third for providing them with accommodation. A fourth man, implicated in this affair, finally benefited from a dismissal.

The driver came out of his cabin to check a group’s ticket and asked them to wear their masks. An altercation then broke out. They all met outside the bus. Taken to hospital, the driver was brain dead. Five days later, on July 10, the family and the doctors decided to stop the treatment.
