“We must continue the movement”estimated Friday March 17 on France Inter François Hommeril, president of the CFE-CGC union, after “the coup de force” of the government. While the executive preferred to resort to 49.3 to “to prevent” a vote of the National Assembly on the pension reform, he denounces a “rather unacceptable institutional violence”.
“This can’t be the end of the story”continues François Hommeril. “We have shown that this reform was not justified, that it was unfair, people have confidence in us, we cannot disappoint them today”, he adds, while the inter-union calls for a new day of mobilization on Thursday, March 23. Although he is aware that “nothing will convince Emmanuel Macron”François Hommeril recalls that they still have “different springs” notably “the referendum and the constitutional jurisdiction”he says.

In the political opposition, the National Rally and the Liot group (a group made up of ultramarines, defectors from the left, and centrists) have made it known that they intend to table motions of censure. “Élisabeth Borne said yesterday on TF1, to vote for the motion of censure or not, it will be to vote for or against the reform, there is a deception in there”denounces the president of the CFE-CGC. “If she really wanted us to vote for or against, why didn’t she go to the vote?”launches François Hommeril.
Faced with this, he says “to fear” that the protest movement “degenerate”. “Anger, we saw it on Thursday evening, I don’t want it. I don’t want resignation either, because we don’t govern a country with resigned people”he concludes.
