The news was announced on air early Wednesday morning.
“I’m dizzy,” reacted Patrick Lagacé in the morning on 98.5 FM. “It’s probably the biggest assignment of my career as a journalist,” he said.
“And also, I succeed Paul Arcand […]. It’s a journalistic model […] not only did he inform me, but he made me a better journalist,” added Patrick Lagacé, speaking of his predecessor.
At the helm of the morning show of 98.5 FM for almost twenty years, Paul Arcand announced his departure scheduled for the summer of 2024 last June.
“I prefer to tell you directly because it can leak or come out wrong. I told my bosses that I intended to complete my current contract, which meant hosting the morning show for two years. But I don’t want to renew the agreement and I don’t want to extend my contract,” he announced on the air.
