More than three-quarters of those who decide to go into franchising are former employees and 43% have changed sector of activity on this occasion, according to the latest Banque Populaire study on the issue. The president of the French franchise federation sees many executives in retraining pushing the door of the networks, more and more women, and also, this is new, more and more young people, in the first part of their career. Many of them have a modest level of education, since we find 36% of these new entrepreneurs who only have a baccalaureate or less.

Franchising costs about 20,000 euros for a small personal services business that will not require real estate investment. This could be, for example, home delivery of meals for the elderly or home service via a large brand. It can climb to several hundred thousand euros for a large fast food chain or a supermarket.
