In fact, Andreescu cites psychological and physical fatigue over his decision not to make the trip to Australia, where the first Grand Slam tournament of the 2022 season will be held in January.

I could not detach myself from what was happening outside the court, she continued. I felt the collective sadness and turmoil; it got the upper hand over me. I want to give myself extra time to level up and recover, while growing from that. ”
The former fourth player in the world occupies the 46e rank of the WTA Tour. She has totaled 29 games in 2021, her last dating back to the third round of the Indian Wells tournament last month. She lost in two sets against Estonian Anett Kontaveit.
