Younger brother of former Montreal Expos manager Jesus Alou died at the age of 80 on Friday, the Boston Red Sox announced.

The youngest of Felipe Alou had recently suffered two cardiovascular accidents.
Jesus Alou spent 15 seasons in the major leagues. He won the World Series twice, with the Oakland Athletics, in addition to wearing the colors of the Houston Astros, New York Mets and San Francisco Giants.
He had worked as a scout with the Red Sox since 2002, while running the Boston team’s baseball school in the Dominican Republic.
“Jay was the patriarch of the Red Sox Dominican Academy and the Lindos Suenos program and helped bring communities together in the Red Sox Nation. We are deeply affected by his loss,” the Red Sox wrote in a statement.
The Alou are also the only trio of brothers to have played in the outfield in the same game. Felipe, Matty and Jesus served as outfielders with the Giants on September 15, 1963, in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
