A shooting in a center frequented by Jehovah’s Witnesses killed eight people on Thursday evening, March 9, in Hamburg, Germany. The profile of the assailant, who took his own life, becomes a little clearer.
When the police stormed, the shooter had already used his weapon more than 100 times at a place of worship of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hamburg, Germany. The author of the shooting, which killed seven people, fled upstairs in the building, leaving behind a veritable bloodbath. The first victims, some seriously injured, were evacuated in a panic.
A former member of Jehovah’s Witnesses
The assailant then turned the gun on himself. According to the police, it is Philipp F., a 35-year-old man with no criminal history. “Philipp F. was a former member of Jehovah’s Witnesses and had voluntarily left the community a year and a half ago, obviously not on good terms”, explained Thomas Radszuweit, head of the Hamburg police. The police admitted having been alerted a few months ago that he was suffering from psychological problems.
