New episode around the provisional detention of Pierre Palmade. The public prosecutor’s office in Melun (Seine-et-Marne) appealed the decision of the investigating judge to lift this pre-trial detention for medical reasons, franceinfo learned from the prosecutor in Melun on Monday March 6, confirming information from the Parisian. The comedian thus remains in prison, because the prosecution appealed this decision by forming an interim detention. A hearing at the Paris Court of Appeal is due to take place in the coming days.
If the court of appeal decides to maintain the provisional detention of the comedian, he could join the prison of Fresnes (Val-de-Marne), following his hospitalization. This prison was indeed chosen because this establishment will allow him to have suitable medical follow-up and includes a surgical platform, a source familiar with the matter told franceinfo.
Pierre Palmade is indicted for manslaughter and involuntary injuries, after the serious road accident which occurred on Friday February 10 in Seine-et-Marne, during which a 7-month-pregnant woman lost her baby. During the accident, the actor tested positive for cocaine. The 54-year-old comedian is also concerned by two other investigations: for “violation of the narcotics legislation” and for possession of child pornography images, after reports to the police in the days following his accident.
