14 injured in a bus accident, transporting children, the driver and an attendant in absolute emergency

14 people were injured on Saturday March 4 in a bus accident, transporting children from the Paris region, two adults in absolute emergency, near the town of Corps (Isère), reports France Bleu Isère. The children’s bus connected Grenoble station as part of a summer camp in the town of Sceaux (Hauts-de-Seine).

The accident occurred Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. on the RN 85 road near the town of Corps. The bus, coming from the Hautes-Alpes, was carrying 46 people, including six adults and 40 primary school children. No other vehicle is involved in the accident.

11 children slightly injured

The result of this accident is “two adults in absolute emergency, the driver and an accompanying person, as well as an adult and 11 children classified in relative emergency”, indicates the prefecture of Isère. All of the victims have been taken care of and are being evacuated to hospitals appropriate to the condition of the victims.

The organizer of the stay takes care of the rerouting of the children and their companions. In the meantime, the commune of Corps has requisitioned a hotel to accommodate them. “There are quite a few volunteers, residents, especially the village teachers who have come with board games. They organize workshops to keep the 32 children occupied a little bit.explains Fabien Mulyk, the mayor of Corps on France Bleu Isère. We can be satisfied with the results despite the fact that we have two victims who are still in serious condition.

The prefecture has opened its Departmental Operational Center (COD). 90 firefighters from the SDIS de l’Isère and a Civil Security helicopter were engaged on the spot.
