A 54-year-old woman was found dead at her home in Saint-Laurent-d’Arce (Gironde), stabbed by her ex-spouse. The 61-year-old man, found on Friday March 3 hanged in a garage, had already been sentenced in 2005 to 20 years in prison for attempted murder, at the time on his wife, franceinfo learned on Friday. He was released in 2017. He had not been followed up beyond his period of detention.
The 54-year-old woman found dead at her home felt threatened. She called from her home on Friday at midday her new companion. The man then contacts the sister of the fifties, geographically closer, so that she goes there. Once she arrives, she finds her sister dead on the ground. The victim had his throat cut and received 24 stab wounds.
For several days, the fifty-year-old said she was worried. The couple had been separated for a short time. She had filed a complaint against her former companion twice last month with the gendarmes of Saint-André-de-Cubzac, once for violence and once for invasion of privacy. The last complaint was dated February 23. Neither had been raised with the Libourne prosecutor’s office.
