Max Verstappen could become Formula 1 world champion on Sunday 5 December in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) for the 21st and penultimate Grand Prix of the season. But nothing is done for the Red Bull driver since he is closely followed in the standings by the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, and he starts third on the grid. The Briton starts from pole position and will count on his teammate, Valtteri Bottas, second, to delay the Dutchman.
To be crowned today, Max Verstappen must take one of the first two places, and count on a mediocre result from the Briton. But a victory by the latter, coupled with a misstep by his rival, could change everything and lead the two drivers to play a “final” in Abu Dhabi on December 12.
