A business in downtown Montreal was targeted by gunfire early Wednesday morning.
No injuries were reported in this incident, which occurred shortly before 5 a.m.
The police arrived near a business on Crescent Street, near Sainte-Catherine Street West, following a call to 911.
A casing was located on the spot by officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) on the roadway, said officer Julien Lévesque, spokesman for the police force.
The suspect in this episode of gun violence fled.
A security perimeter was erected to allow investigators to clarify the circumstances of the event.
