Three smugglers arrested

Voices are raised to denounce the inaction of the emergency services and the authorities. The boat was only 150 meters from shore. As of yesterday evening, the Italian Minister of the Interior reacted: “It was impossible to carry out any maneuver, due to the sea conditions”. An investigation was opened and three men, presumed to be smugglers, were arrested. According to the Italian authorities, nearly 14,000 migrants have landed in Italy since the beginning of the year compared to 5,000 last year at the same time.
