The French group Hermès has announced an exceptional bonus of 4,000 euros for its 20,000 employees.

Nearly 20,000 Hermès employees worldwide will receive an exceptional bonus. “We have announced a new bonus of 4,000 euros which will be paid at the end of the month”, said Axel Dumas, manager of the Hermès group. Added to this is the incentive. In all, an employee of Hermès will receive the equivalent of 17 months’ salary over the year, according to the group. This is the result of a historic year with sales up nearly 30%.

Young people increasingly attracted to luxury

Hermès did not suffer from the closure of stores in China linked to Covid-19. Other companies have also announced exceptional bonuses such as LVMH, which will pay 1,500 euros to its most modest employees. Some go further, like Ferrari, with a bonus of 13,000 euros thanks to sales record. The performances are linked to a growing appeal for luxury by young people, according to an expert.
