Two young Israelis were shot dead in an attack on their car on Sunday (February 26th) in the northern occupied West Bank, the Israeli government announced. The assault happened on the main road in Huwara, near Nablus. An AFP photographer saw Israeli soldiers deployed for search operations.

The victims are two brothers aged 20 and 22.

This event comes as a meeting between Palestinian and Israeli officials is taking place in Jordan on Sunday to try to put an end to the spiral of violence observed since the beginning of the year.

The Shomron Regional Council, which manages Jewish settlements in this area, identified the two victims as two brothers, Hillel and Yagel Yaniv. Residing in the colony of Har Bracha, close to the place of the attack, the victims were aged 22 and 20 respectively.
