Like every year, the Salon de l’Agriculture is the scene of a parade of politicians. On Saturday February 25, Emmanuel Macron went to inaugurate the event, an opportunity for direct contact with breeders.

An oyster for breakfast, here is the starting point of a marathon day for Emmanuel Macron at the Salon de l’Agriculture, Saturday 25 February. Many expressed their concern to the president. “We must first protect, keep our type of family-based agriculture, rooted in the territory”insists a farmer who fears that imports will endanger the French agricultural model.

Pension reform is never far away

“We are going to fight at European level to protect our agriculture and its model”, said Emmanuel Macron. The head of state says he wants to defend food sovereignty when 30% of the meat consumed is now imported. Environmental activists took advantage of the event to address angry subjects, such as the climate issue. The president has also been taken to task several times on the pension reform.
