“If environmentalists have a problem with an agricultural world, it is not that of peasants, farmers, but most certainly that of the agricultural industry”, said Sandra Regol, guest of franceinfo on Saturday February 25. The Europe-Ecology MP Les Verts (EELV) from Bas-Rhin and vice-president of the environmental group, still intends to go to the Agricultural Show which opens its doors in Paris, “the beautiful window” of “those who make it”. She hopes to change mentalities and the policy dedicated to the sector.

The environmentalist deputy from Bas-Rhin attacks President Emmanuel Macron who “has chosen to finance the agricultural industry very largely to the detriment of the peasants”, because “a large part of what we produce is not made to feed us”but for “export or to feed animals”. “Those who live best off public aid are in this industrial model”, adds Sandra Regol, who ensures that “that’s a lot of money, but not a lot of people”. For the vice-president of the Ecologist-Nupes group in the National Assembly, “These public policies are leading agriculture to ruin and that is why we are against it.”

She also regrets “dependence on petrochemical industries” developed in the agricultural world “which forces farmers to permanent expenses”. It’s necessary “break that”. Sandra Regol points out that “what matters is how we accompany [les agriculteurs] to feed the people well.
