the success of farmer distributors

In Semur-en-Auxois (Côte-d’Or), a customer, with her empty bottle, comes to help herself to fresh milk. The vending machine is replenished every morning. A two-liter bottle costs 2.50 euros. In the other compartments: vegetables, cereals or even meat. Everything comes from producers located within a radius of 15 kilometers. A concept that seduces. A man welcomes the initiative: “Local circuit, short circuit without necessarily having to go to a farm.”

“It allows a market gardener to live”

Julie Chaudron is a market gardener and associated with the project. His farm is located 5 kilometers from the distributors. She provides thirty baskets a week. She assures: “It’s good, it allows a market gardener to live.” His neighbour, Vincent Clément, raises cows and has also embarked on the project. In the vending machine, he retails meat. The idea was born during the first confinement, in 2020. It was financed in collaboration with the territories. Six producers are enough to run this distributor and there is already talk of opening a second one.
