Denis Dubois will leave Quebecor next June

Quebecor confirms the retirement of one of the most influential men in the television industry in Quebec. Denis Dubois, the current vice-president of original content, will leave the company on June 1st.

His transition to the state company will have been marked by the arrival on the air of the new version of Passe-Partout, which will have enabled the channel to smash its ratings records.

Denis Dubois began his career in youth television. He was in the direction of Canal Famille, before participating in the creation of Vrak. Television in 2001.

According to what The duty learned, he let his teams know last Friday that he would be retiring in June. Recall that the day before, Quebecor announced the elimination of 240 positions, on the sidelines of the poor financial results of the TVA Group. Quebecor Content, the branch of the company to which Denis Dubois was attached, is also one of the subsidiaries affected by the layoffs.

Quebecor President and CEO Pierre Karl Péladeau hinted Friday that the group may have to cut back on its investment in original content if the decline in advertising revenue continues. In an interview at 98.5, the businessman had not ruled out the idea of ​​merging the Vrai and Club Illico platforms.
