On the one hand, the Belle Province added 1,512 infections to its balance sheet, which represents the worst cumulative number of cases since mid-April, at the height of the third wave of COVID-19.

On the other hand, a single death was added to the heavy toll of the province, while the number of hospitalizations (225, -5) remains relatively stable, with a slight deterioration in intensive care (60, +3).

The unvaccinated continue to represent the majority of new cases, while 804 people have contracted the virus in this group which however comprises only 22.2% of the population. The 75.4% of people vaccinated, they share 675 cases.

The majority of infections in the unvaccinated concern children. In this sense, the vaccination campaign started among children, which has already reached 1 in 5 children, promises to help improve the balance sheet.

“Hold on, Covid-19. The vaccination of 5-11 year olds has started … and is progressing very well, ”exclaimed the Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, during his message of the day on COVID-19 on Twitter.
