The Montreal Canadiens claimed defenseman Kale Clague on waivers on Saturday afternoon.
Clague, 23, has five assists in 11 games for the Los Angeles Kings this season. He added four assists in five games with the Ontario Reign in the American Hockey League.
The Kings selected Clague in the second round, 51st overall, in the 2016 NHL Draft. In 33 career games on the Bettman Tour, Clague has amassed 11 assists.
The left-handed defenseman from Regina, Sask., Helped Canada win silver in 2017 and gold in 2018 at the World Junior Hockey Championship. He had eight assists in 13 games with Junior Team Canada.
