The Sea Shepherd association announces that it is filing a complaint against X after the discovery on Saturday, in the Bay of Biscay, of a mutilated and scarified dolphin, indicates France Bleu La Rochelle. The rescued dolphin bore an inscription engraved in the flesh: “Sea Shepherd PD” (sic).
“We are filing a complaint against X for mutilation of a protected species and requesting the opening of an investigation to identify the fishermen who committed this barbaric act,” Sea Shepherd announced on its Twitter account on Saturday. The NGO organized a new awareness-raising operation this Sunday afternoon, in the Old Port of La Rochelle.
The association had already filed a complaint against X in mid-January, after the discovery of several mutilated cetaceans on the Atlantic coast. She then denounced the lack of “concrete measures” from the state. In two months, nearly 400 cetaceans were found dead on the Atlantic coast, mainly in Vendée and Charente-Maritime.
