At the Munich Security Conference, representatives of several states raised their voices against Russia. Kamala Harris, the vice-president of the United States, called the Russian abuses a crime against humanity.
Like the Mariupol maternity ward that was bombed, since the start of the war in Ukraine, 65,000 cases of Russian war crimes have been reported. For Kamala Harris, Vice-President of the United States, there is no longer any doubt: “The United States has established that Russia committed crimes against humanity.” For the first time, she dares these words, an additional reason to speed up arms deliveries to the Ukrainian army. “We must redouble our efforts. We must continue the very massive support,” said Ursula Von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
Putin could go further
Almost a year after the start of the invasion, Russia has conquered a fifth of Ukrainian territory. And NATO fears that Vladimir Putin will not stop there, since he is reaching out to other authoritarian regimes like Iran to supply himself with weapons. For his part, Emmanuel Macron remains on his positions. In an interview with France Inter, he assured that he wanted the defeat of Russia, without crushing it.
