2021 revised and corrected | The great laughing stock!

Since 2005, Reviewed and corrected is to the scene what the Bye Bye is on television: the opportunity for a great collective release to end our year in style. After skipping an edition in 2020, the 2021 show therefore ends two years in one; as well as one of the busiest periods in the news, of sad memory.

So, is this 2021 vintage good? Yes, this show is enjoyable, without downtime, and just runny enough to make us forget the deluge of bad news that falls on our heads.

This humorous review will be editorial or not. All the subjects (or almost) pass there and the sketches are defended by a (very) solid quintet – Véronique Claveau, Tommy Joubert, Joëlle Lanctôt, Benoit Paquette and Marc St-Martin -, under the removed direction of Natalie Lecompte. We come back to the conspirators, the wokes, toxic masculinity, artists, journalists and politicians … not to mention anti-vaccine (those absent are always wrong, hi, hi).

The real and the fake Celine

One of the highlights of the evening is the battle of hits between the two Célines: the “real” (Véronique Claveau, very vocal!) And the version of Valérie Lemercier (excellent Joëlle Lanctôt). With the added bonus of a Maman Dion (Tommy Joubert, twisting!) Who appears to perform her note. Certainly, Celine Dion is often present in the reviews of the Rideau Vert. However, with the interminable soap opera about the film Aline, the collective delirium of Quebecers around their national myth has reached Himalayan heights! It’s best just to laugh.

The sketches are defended by a (very) solid quintet.

Other highlights include the parody of If we loved each other, in which Louise Sigouin (hilarious Joëlle Lanctôt) tries to save the relationship between François Legault and Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois: “Which of you two is the co-dependent in the couple? », Says the sex therapist. Let us mention the number on Damien Robitaille, the man-orchestra of the confinement; the tasty imitation of host Pénélope McQuade; the sketch of the two Denis (the old and the new Coderre) with Abbott & Costello sauce; the hilarious nods to the hilarious song GAFA by Nicolas Ciccone …

Julie Snyder (a personality tailor-made for the talent of comedian Marc St-Martin) arrives on stage on a skateboard to animate The week of 4 Julie, and will return for his surreal face-to-face with Anne Dorval (Claveau, of a great resemblance). The review also underlines the omnipresence of Rita Baga in 2021. The queen of dragging is here offered a new collaboration with… TVA Sports (a number, however, less successful).

The COVID years

COVID-19, of course, will be discussed, but from a revealing angle of the excesses that the virus causes in mortals. In the great theater of life, vaudeville is never very far from human drama. In a parody of Discovery, the host Charles Tisseyre (Benoit Paquette) observes with detachment the gestures of conspirators. In another, the cryptoscientific theories of Didier Raoult are exposed (but without Stéphan Bureau, alas). We underline in passing the “lack of judgment” of Anne Casabonne, as well as the mistakes of Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge. A big year for the members of the UDA…

In short, it is not because our times are opaque that we are not worth a great collective laughing stock.
