Revisited reality TV

Varda Étienne is at the helm of an unprecedented dating reality show and promises to be the accomplice of one-on-ones. Like many shows of its kind, What if it was You ? thus follows single people in their search for the rare pearl, with the difference that they live with a disability. In each episode, the host draws the attention of viewers to one of the participants invited to a series of three first dates… story that they put all the odds on their side. Hugues, for example, who is visually impaired, takes his suitors Geneviève, Catherine and Émilie respectively to the O. Noir restaurant—where diners eat in total darkness—to a sonic tennis session and a picnic at the park to get to know them better. For their part, aspiring lovers are open to diversity in all its forms, be it physical, sexuality, etc. Will the magic work?

Direction Costa Rica with get outme from here!Ten personalities, including Andréanne A. Malette, Nathalie Simard, Marianne St-Gelais and Rahmane Belkebiche, gently confront each other with one objective in mind: to raise as much money as possible for a cause close to their hearts, namely the great prize of $100,000. To do this, improvised campers are only entitled to the bare minimum and must surpass themselves to survive the vagaries of life in the jungle. The setting offered by this Latin American country is heavenly, but the participants must indeed sleep under the stars, very often at the mercy of bad weather and the local tropical fauna… During the first three weeks, daily tests allow them to obtain their rations of rice and beans, but things then get tough for the adventurers. After getting used to the rhythm, they will have to face the challenges of endangerment, then elimination during the gala of the jungle presented by Alexandre Barrette and Jean-Philippe Dion.

To the adventure !

Canadian comedian Eugene Levy (Graduation Madness, welcome to Schitt’s Creek) is, according to him, anything but a fighter. However, he agreed to step out of his comfort zone as part of Apple TV+’s new discovery series, The Reluctant Traveler. From Lisbon to Lapland, via Utah and South Africa, we follow his adventures through luxurious hotels and original experiences. Because make no mistake about it, the show, as its name suggests, is rather intended to seduce those who are repelled by travel. It should still be noted that the images are breathtaking and that Eugene Levy’s repeated grunts are cult.

For its part, Max Télé offers a program much more punctuated with strong emotions. Adventures Express.TV travels the country from coast to coast and takes viewers on a hunt for mountain goats in British Columbia, on the trail of black bears in Mauricie and chinook salmon in Ontario, but also in Newfoundland looking for originals. Presented by Mario Huot, hunter emeritus for several decades, the first season already promises to be merciless for wild animals…

Back to square one

Who has never been a part ofMonopoly ? Present in homes for several generations, the famous board game is the subject of a very interesting documentary broadcast on PBS. Associated with capitalism and repeatedly decried for this reason, the Monopoly reveals its dark side in a film by Stephen Ives (Tea Great War), constructed as a detective investigation with powerful social commentary. More than a dark portrait, Ruthless: Monopoly’s Secret History also underlines the popular success of a game imagined by a woman at the turn of the 20th centurye century.

Benoit Dutrizac wonders

“Are you just asking me questions? I don’t think so, ”warns Benoît Dutrizac in his new show for Moi et Cie. The host has thus decided to put things in perspective to better understand the world around him and find out if others share his fears, obsessions and behaviors. In the first episode, he reflects on his fear (no doubt shared by others…) of the apocalypse.
