COVID-19 report in Quebec February 16, 2023

COVID-19 hospitalizations haven’t budged much in the past few hours, but new deaths have continued to pile up.

Health authorities have reported 12 new people who have succumbed to the disease. Among them, two died in the last 24 hours.

Eight deaths were recorded two to seven days ago, and two more more than seven days ago.

There have been a total of 18,049 deaths since the start of the pandemic in Quebec.

Hospitalizations also fell slightly by seven to 1,313. Of these patients, 436 were being treated for COVID-19.

In intensive care, however, one person was added to the toll, which now stands at 34, including 24 who are being treated specifically for the disease.

More than 2,100 health professionals had to be absent in connection with COVID-19.

The number of new cases also remained fairly stable, with a total of 563. Quebecers also reported 41 positive cases detected by rapid tests. However, these data should be taken with a grain of salt, because access to screening centers is restricted.

Eventually, 1,710 doses of vaccine were administered on Wednesday.
