[VIDÉO] An Amazon delivery man destroys his package with a kick in Laval

An Amazon delivery man who was to carefully drop off the package containing Valentine’s Day glasses for a Laval resident was instead captured on video kicking him violently for free.

“It looks like he had rage, that he was angry. It doesn’t make sense,” laments Fahd Mohammed, a 31-year-old Laval resident.

On the evening of February 9, the latter received at home a package he had ordered to celebrate Valentine’s Day with his wife containing glasses decorated with hearts. Notified of the delivery on his phone, Mr. Mohammed, who was at work, immediately called his wife at home to ask her to collect the package from his doorstep.

“My wife goes downstairs and she says, ‘Sooo, the box is broken and the item is broken too.’ I said, “huh? It is not possible. I just received the photo that everything is correct!”»

The Laval resident immediately looked at the images from one of his surveillance cameras to try to understand what had happened.

In the video, the delivery man wearing an Amazon coat can be seen dropping the box instead of dropping it off, taking a photo of it, and then kicking the package hard.

“I see the delivery man and the package, and all of a sudden, he is kicking the article, describes Mr. Mohammed. I did not understand.”

“It makes me hesitate to order”

Mr. Mohammed contacted Amazon customer service to inform them of the situation and forwarded the video to them.

“They said to me, ‘oh I’m sorry, you can return the item and we’ll return another one, and we’ll give you a $10 credit.’ I said ‘OK, but in relation to what happened?

Mr. Mohammed says he had to insist that the incident be referred to the complaints department. “I haven’t heard from you since.”

The Journal emailed questions to Amazon public relations in an attempt to elicit an explanation, but these remained unanswered as of Tuesday afternoon.

“I don’t know what he had that day, but you have to at least meet him, talk to him, see what he had,” explains Mr. Mohammed. My goal is to understand. Does he have frustration inside him? Does he need help? I don’t know.”

A regular customer, Mr. Mohammed admits that he “now hesitates to order” on Amazon and that his confidence in his delivery people has been damaged by the event.

“A delivery man, you trust him. You trust a company that they are there to protect your items. But when someone acts that way, it makes you ask questions. My wife and son are home alone. When the delivery man comes, are they safe?”
