Almost a year after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Ukrainian youth are paying the high price of war. What does their daily life look like? This is the subject of Talk franceinfo. Every evening from 6 p.m., Manon Mella and her guests debate with Internet users on the franceinfo Twitch channel.

On February 24, 2022, Russian troops invaded Ukraine. More than 350 days after this invasion, the war persists and the Ukrainian youth pays the price of these fights. Young Ukrainians have lived for almost a year between drone attacks, missiles and bombings, but some manage to maintain a semblance of normal life. What does the daily life of these young people look like?

Franck Ballanger, journalist with the international editorial staff of Radio France and Thomas Sellin, JRI for franceinfo went on a mission to Kiev for ten days and held out the microphone to this youth at the heart of the war. They are in the Talk to discuss it. Manon Mella also welcomes Maria, a Franco-Ukrainian student and founder of the Coeur d’Ukraine association.

Life to the rhythm of alerts

kyiv is 600 kilometers from the front, but by bombing essential infrastructure at the end of last year, Vladimir Putin’s strategy is largely based on his desire to make life impossible for Ukrainians. If one inhabitant in five has left kyiv since the start of the war, those who remain suffer power cuts and live to the rhythm of the alerts.

What is the daily life of the inhabitants of the city like? How do we live without electricity? And above all, how do the young inhabitants met on the spot deal with this situation?

Join us from 6 p.m. Monday to Friday on the franceinfo Twitch channel to participate in Manon Mella’s Talk. An hour of exchange, clarification, debate around topical and social issues.
