Almost a week after the deadly earthquakes that hit Turkey, the search continues for relief. A state of emergency has been declared, while scenes of anarchy are multiplying.

The cries of an infant allow rescuers to find him. Crouched under a concrete slab, Hamza survived. He is seven months old and spent 139 hours under the ruins of his building. The little Cudi, 10 years old, out of the rubble, in Antakya (Turkey) on Sunday February 12, is exhausted but alive. The young girl will have spent 147 hours under the rubble. Still a few bright spots in a drama that has been playing out for almost a week in the city of Adiyaman (Turkey).

State of emergency declared

Turkey and Syria never stop counting their dead and discovering their cities almost completely destroyed. In all, 26 million people could be affected in the two countries, according to the World Health Organization. International aid is deployed and chaos also sets in, with scenes of looting. A state of emergency has been declared in Turkey in the ten provinces affected by the earthquake. The army was deployed in the streets and in the markets, to try to prevent the country from descending into anarchy.
