(Washington) The home of former US Vice President Mike Pence was searched by the FBI on Friday as part of the White House archives case, several US media reported.
Like Joe Biden and Donald Trump before, classified documents were discovered in his home in Carmel, Indiana, in late January.
The ultra-conservative, who is toying with the idea of running for president in 2024, “was not aware of their existence” but had ordered a search of his belongings as a precaution, according to his lawyer Me Greg Jacob.

This new search was organized on Friday, in coordination between the FBI and the lawyers of Mike Pence, according to the washington post.
In the United States, a 1978 law obliges American presidents and vice-presidents to transmit all their e-mails, letters and other working documents to the National Archives. Another law, on espionage, prohibits the keeping of documents classified as confidential in unauthorized and unsecured places.
The spokesperson for the former vice-president and the federal police did not respond to requests from AFP.
