“We are appealing for donations because we need the generosity of donors to support all those people who have lost everything who are so struck and stunned by the way their lives have changed that night”, adds Axelle Davezac. To make a donation, “you have to go to the fondationdefrance.org site where there is the ‘donate’ tab”specifies the director general of the Fondation de France.
The rain and snow, which fell in some places in abundance, and the expected drop in temperatures with nightfall make the work of the emergency services even more difficult, and the situation of the inhabitants on the street.
Emergency needs
As a result, “very immediately there are emergency needs, food aid, access to drinking water, sheltering populations. We are in the middle of winter and it is cold”explains the Director General of the Fondation de France.
“These people either have no homes left or are afraid to return home because they fear aftershocks” And “we also have to manage to build shelters, to take care of all these people”. Afterwards, “we are going to adapt the needs and the orientation of the donations according to the needs of the populations and what will be supported by international aid and the public authorities”explains Axelle Davezac.
