Chicago Blackhawks forward Tyler Johnson underwent surgery to place an artificial vertebra in his neck on Friday, becoming the second hockey player to choose this approach after Jack Eichel.

Johnson will now be out of the game for about three months, according to sports site The Athletic. Eichel, he started skating again on Thursday, 20 days after going under the knife.
